Chronic Pain Services
Since 1996, I have been working with individuals primarily referred by the WSIB and insurance companies, I have developed a cognitive/behavioural approach based on best practices identified by current research.
There are two parts to my therapy. The first is a cognitive psycho-educational approach, increasing my clients' understanding of their beliefs, attitudes, ideas and mental images, and how these affect their management of pain. The second, behavioural component utilizes techniques to help clients reduce the normal tension/anxiety effects of pain. This practical course of treatment covers a standard protocol geared to my clients' goals. Individual treatment is provided. Group sessions of up to 6 individuals is offered. Referrals are accepted from physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pain specialists, insurance companies and self referrals.
